The enrollment rate has plummeted from 60% to 43% in just one year.

35% of our teenagers are leaving schools to join a workforce that offers them underpaid and informal labor.

4 in 10 children are out of school to afford basic necessities like food and medicine.

Success stories

Dima

Celebrating Excellence! We are proud to share the success story of Dima Salman, a Teach A Child student since 2021, who has just graduated with the Lebanese Baccalaureate in General Sciences — earning a “Very Good” distinction with an average above 18. Dima ranked 3rd in Beirut among her peers, a remarkable achievement that reflects her hard work, resilience, and brilliance. During her distinction ceremony, Dima delivered an inspiring speech where she expressed heartfelt gratitude to Teach A Child for standing by her side throughout her educational journey. She also shared a powerful message with her fellow students: “Embrace the future of uncertainty and let it lead you towards discovery.” We couldn’t be prouder of Dima and are confident that her path forward will inspire many others. With her determination and vision, she hopes one day to give back to society in the same way she has been supported.

Maria-Rebecca

Maria-Rebecca's journey is one of resilience and determination, marked by a powerful pursuit of her dreams. For two years, she faced the absence of formal education following her high school graduation. Yet, her aspiration to excel in the field of architecture never wavered. Introduced to Teach A Child by her former school principal, Maria-Rebecca found the support she needed to restart her academic path. In 2022, she seized the opportunity to enroll at USEK, setting her sights on her long-awaited bachelor's degree in architecture. Maria-Rebecca's unwavering spirit shines through in her words: "I am a tough person, hard to break and stubborn enough to believe that I too have the right to dream and achieve." With a current GPA of 3.5, she stands as a testament to the transformative power of education. Her vision extends beyond personal triumph; it embraces the promise of a brighter future. Maria-Rebecca firmly believes that education is the key to transcending adversity and achieving prosperity. She envisions herself not just as an architect, but as a legend in the architectural world.

Dima

We are extremely proud of our student Dima Salman for her outstanding results! Dima ranked 8th in Lebanon and 4th in Beirut in the official Brevet exams for the academic year 2021-2022.

Zeina

We have yet another star student on board! We are excited to share our pride in our terminal student Zeina Mahmoud who nailed her official exams SV section for the academic year 2021-2022. With a remarkable average of 18.94, Zeina ranked 10th in Lebanon and earned a full scholarship in a reputable university. She is currently majoring in Medical Lab, and is still excelling as always!

Ghady

We are proud to announce that we have a champion in our house! Hard circumstances molded him into a warrior. Our student Ghady is not only Lebanon’s champion in kick boxing, but he is as well Asia’s and Arab’s champion!

Jennifer

Despite facing significant trauma and health risks following the Achrafieh explosion, and grappling with severe financial constraints, Jennifer pursued her education with unwavering determination. Now, Jennifer stands as a university graduate, employed and self-financing, and is currently pursuing her master’s degree!

Tony

Driven by passion & the will to make a difference. Teach A Child student since 2015, Tony graduated with an Agricultural Engineering degree from the Lebanese University in 2022. Driven by passion and his strong will to improve Lebanon's agriculture sector, Tony is pursuing his post graduate studies in Crop Production at the Lebanese University while focusing in parallel on his second degree in Land Management in Agriculture at CIHEAM Bari, Italy, on scholarship due to his outstanding performance. Tony is also a volunteer at the Lebanese Red Cross - Youth Center.

Nagham

Nagham responds to hardship with bravery and opportunity. In 2020, when Nagham lost her father in the Beirut explosion, she responded to hardship with resilience and a growth mindset. With hard work and dedication, Teach A Child student Nagham met the requirement to earn a better quality of education. Teach A Child moved Nagham to a private school where she continues to excel both academically and on a personal level to proudly become Lebanon's champion in Taekwondo. While she loves singing, playing basketball and championing Taekwondo, she aims to become a neurologist or a cardiologist while we aim to support her dreams.
